Who We Are

Synovialfluid100The European Prosthetic Joint Infection Cohort (EPJIC) is a multicenter multinational research project including patients with infections of the joint prosthesis and other implants.This is also a multidisciplinary and scientific project, involving specialists interested in prosthetic joint infection (PJI) and other implant-associated infections.

The study is established jointly by the Orthopedic and Traumatology surgeons, Infectious Diseases specialists and Microbiologists of selected university and non-university institutions across Europe. 

This project is expected to be endorsed by the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopedics and Traumatology (EFORT) and by the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) Study Group on Implant-Associated Infections (ESGIAI).

The European Prosthetic Joint Infection Cohort (EPJIC) is supported by the PRO-IMPLANT Foundation.
